To be absolutely infatuated with someone who reciprocates that feeling seems to be one of the greatest joys in the world. Sunflower Vol. 6 perfectly encapsulates the feeling of adoration that consumes you when you find that person. In my eyes, this could be seen as one of Harry’s most romantic songs. The passion and longing that reside between the lyrics in this song are those to make the person they are written for swoon and sway to the multicolored melody.
Who wouldn’t want to be asked to “kiss in the kitchen like it’s a dance floor”? From the first lyric Harry expresses how deeply he wants this person, “more than a melody”. Which has to be quite the infatuation for a musician to want someone more than a melody. To have your portrait “hung up high in the gallery” seems to be one of the greatest achievements. This is the song you’ll play as you dance with your lover to the glow of a refrigerator light at one in the morning. And if you enjoy the passionate lyrics and story, the psychedelic beat will make you fall in love. When you hear the first sound, you can’t help but bounce along to the euphony. It will leave a warm feeling in your chest and the chorus will be running on a loop for the next three days, resulting in many midnight dance parties.
Sunflower Vol. 6 shows us that sometimes puppy love is one to be enjoyed to the fullest. Letting yourself fall at your lover’s feet in adoration and doing anything to make sure they are aware of your enchantment with their very being. So let yourself fall, and let them know how much you cherish you they are, even if that means becoming a fool for love. And to sign off boop boop boop.
Bri’s take-
“Kiss in the kitchen like it’s a dance floor,” Sunflower Vol. 6 is the epitome of a romantic song that you just can’t help but dance to. From the playful swells of psychedelic strumming and easy percussion to the boops at the end, Sunflower Vol. 6 expresses pure infatuation with someone and the idea of wanting to do whatever possible to not give yourself away too much. It shows how you can be completely and helplessly in love with someone but still hold back saying, “I don’t want to make you feel bad, but I’ve been trying hard not to act a fool” because you don’t want to scare them away with your passion and adoration. It speaks to the hopeless romantics and those who can’t help but fall hard and worship the ground their person of desire walks on, and it's a message to be willing to be open and love as hard as you can.
Sunflower Vol. 6 is the type of song that you play in the car as green mountains and fields of flowers pass outside the windows with a cerulean backdrop that's peppered with fluffy white clouds. This is the tune that you play while dancing in a bright kitchen, living off the pure ecstasy that is love. This track is devotion at its purest, with declarations like, “I couldn’t want you anymore” and expressing that “tired eyes are the death of me,” this track shows the nuances of being in love. How when you are in love with someone you will notice everything about them and fall in love with every little detail about them and it will break your heart a little bit whenever that person shows any signs of not being at their best, but your willingness to do anything in your power to make them feel the most golden as possible.
Track 9 boasts the feeling of love in the most authentic way. Sunflower Vol. 6 is a playful and addictive experience that proves that no matter how much you may fear being true and expressing your love, it's the only way to go when you are in love with someone. Even if you are “tongue-tied” and want nothing more than to be able to resist your infatuation, this track seeps it out of you and encourages you to fall at the feet of your love and commit wholly to them despite any apprehensions.
